LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A Lufkin man pleaded guilty Friday morning to standing naked on a Lufkin street in March.

Jewel Vernon Swint, 27, accepted a seven-year prison sentence for an unrelated charge of escape and a 180-day jail sentence for indecent exposure.

Swint had been originally charged with indecency of a child, because Lufkin Police officers reported he knowingly exposed himself to three children. But prosecutors allowed Swint to plead guilty to the lesser charge, which is a Class B misdemeanor.

According to a previous report, two witnesses said they were driving along Weaver Street and came upon Swint standing in the roadway.  They said they asked him to move so they could drive past, instead of moving, Swint allegedly hit the car and reached through the window towards the female occupant.

There were three young children seated in child safety seats in the back seat of the car.  The witnesses said Swint then walked around to the front of the vehicle and removed his pants, exposing himself and masturbating.  All three child safety seats were clearly visible, according to officer Nick Malone.
