San Augustine police officer kicked, threatened by suspect

SAN AUGUSTINE, TX (KTRE) -

A San Augustine man is behind bars for allegedly assaulting and threatening a police officer during a DWI arrest, according to the report.

Officer Jim Blackwell allegedly observed Anthony Holeman almost hitting several mail boxes in his car early Sunday morning.  When he stopped the car, the report states, he tried to get away while the officer tried to take him into custody.  

Police say Holeman allegedly kicked Blackwell and threatened to kill him when he got out of jail.  He was charged with DWI, resisting arrest, threatening and assaulting a public servant.
