Residents in Chireno area under boil water notice

Posted: Updated:
CHIRENO, TX (KTRE) -

Customers on Highway 95 South, Chireno ISD, south of Chireno ISD, Highway 103, and Boggy Creek areas are under a boil water notice.

Water supply officials said, there was line break on Thursday to the water system of Melrose Water Supply Corporation PWS ID-1740006.

Customers affected are urged to boil water prior to consumption.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.

In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

Water system officials will notify customers when it is no longer necessary to boil water.
