LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Lufkin Police arrested a man on allegations of passing counterfeit money at a grocery store in May.

Carl Albro, 23, of Lufkin, was seen on surveillance at Hernandez Grocery in Lufkin, purchasing a cigar and handing the cashier a $20 bill, according to an arrest warrant affidavit. The cashier noticed the money was fake and called the sheriff's department.

A deputy received a call from communications that Lufkin Police was looking for a vehicle  on Falcon Avenue in Lufkin.

At the residence, the deputy identified Carl Albro, who admitted to passing the counterfeit money, according to the affidavit.

According to a previous report, Nacogdoches Police arrested Albro in April, when officers found two bags of marijuana and a pistol during a traffic stop for a violation of a city ordinance.

Albro was booked into the Angelina County Jail on Sunday and is being held on a $2,500 bail bond.
