LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A homeless Lufkin man may have been trying to cool off in the 100-degree weather or maybe just wanted to relive his childhood days when he ran through a sprinkler on Wednesday evening. Or maybe, as police are alleging, he was just drunk.
Officers responded to the 700 block of Willow Bend Drive at 7 p.m. after a resident said a man was running through a sprinkler in their yard.
Police determined that Edwardo Reyes, 45, listed as homeless, was drunk and arrested him for public intoxication.
Reyes was released from the Angelina County Jail Thursday morning on a re-appear slip.
