LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin ISD Police arrested two men for vandalizing school property.
Melsar Bonilla, 17, and Cristian Granados, 19, both of Lufkin allegedly broke a door and a door jam at Coston Elementary located on the 700 block of Trenton.
Police said the pair was captured on surveillance camera entering one of the school's portable buildings. Once they were inside they allegedly knocked over several televisions and other equipment. They also took some dry erase board cleaner and sprayed it all over the room.
One of the defendants is accused of leaving a pile of human feces on the carpet inside the building.
According to LISD Police, the two broke into the school's gym, and Granados removed a fire extinguisher and sprayed the walls, the floors, and a camera located on the wall.
Officers were able to take photos from the schools surveillance video. They showed those photos to a LISD employee, who immediately identified Granados and Bonilla as the suspects in the video.
Bonilla was located at his residence, which is about 50 feet from the school property, and after being questioned he admitted that he and Granados were the two suspects on the video. He denied any knowledge of the feces left in the portable building.
