Carrington Byndom battling for a starting position

AUSTIN, TX (KTRE) - Tomorrow is the day many longhorn fans have been looking forward to for months, the launch of the longhorn network. With just a little over a week until their first game against rice, many positions are still being fought for on this youthful Longhorn team. Former Panther Carrington Byndom is fighting each practice to get his spot on the field.

"Everybody is getting reps because it's not for sure who is going to be out there the first game," said Byndom. "We are just taking it day by day going through practice trying to get better. We are young, we know that, but we are just trying to come out and work hard. That's all we can do and then everything will fall into place."

Byndom played in all 12 games last year on special teams and six at defensive back. The Longhorns open up their season on September 3rd against the Rice Owls. That game will be exclusively on the longhorn network. So many longhorn fans may not get to see it without subscribing.
