For country music star Mickey Gilley, the past two years have been among the worst and best of his life. Recovering from a fall that paralyzed him, Gilley counts each day a blessing. He's also grateful to be inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame in Carthage, although he isn't a Texan by birth.

Gilley says "Gilley's; The World's Biggest Honkey Tonk" was the turning point in his career. He also had his first hit record the same year Gilley's opened. When John Travolta tagged Gilley's as the setting for "Urban Cowboy," success became supersized.

Although the original Gilley's burned down in 1990, Gilley's Clubs in Dallas, Las Vegas, and Branson continue to prosper.
