Dragons ready to finally open new football season

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Many local high schools started playing a week ago with exciting games throughout Texas. However, coach Scott Ford and the Nacogdoches Dragons are opening their season this week at home.

The team was out on the practice field today working out the last few details before their game Friday. Coach Ford says even he gets excited about the first game, but knows to keep his team focused.

"We're excited it's that time of year," says Ford. "Right now our sole focus is on Little-Cypress. They do have a game under their belt that we don't have, so they have a little bit of an advantage there. We just need to focus on Nacogdoches and make sure that we play the best that we can play."

Nacogdoches opens up the season Friday. We will of course have the highlights on Friday Night Madness at 11:05 PM after the game.
