SHELBY CO., TX (KTRE) – A lengthy drug investigation in Shelby County has ended with three arrests and confiscation of a cache of drugs and money, and a handgun.
Late Thursday afternoon officers from multiple agencies armed with a search warrant raided a house at 422 State Highway 147 in Center. They found 47 grams of powder cocaine, approximately 27 grams of crack cocaine, numerous hydrocodone and Xanax pills, a 9mm handgun, and approximately $1,500 in U.S. Currency, according to Detective Joey Haley, Center Police Department.
"Arrested at the scene were Roland Young, 23, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Felony Second Degree), Felon in Possession of a Firearm (Felony Third Degree), Michael Anthony Hill Jr., 23, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance( Second Degree Felony x 2), Felon in Possession of a Firearm (Felony Third Degree), Possession of a Controlled Substance (State Jail Felony), and Donald Ray Land, 46, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Felony Second Degree), Possession of a Controlled Substance (State Jail Felony)," Haley stated in a news release.
This investigation is not over, federal charges are pending and more arrests could occur, according to Haley. "The narcotics investigation revealed that these suspects drug trafficking was effecting the areas of Shelby County including the City of Center, Nacogdoches County and more."
Shelby County Precinct 2 Constable Shad Sparks led the investigation with assistance from the Center Police Department's Tactical Narcotics Team, members of the Nacogdoches County S.E.R.T Team and DPS Narcotics agents.
