UPDATE: Body found in burned truck is suspect's husband

UPSHUR COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Early Tuesday afternoon, the Upshur County Fire Marshal and the Ore City Fire Department were called to a 11,400 block of Hwy 155 N, north of Gilmer.

Upon arrival at the scene, authorities discovered a burned body inside of a pickup truck.

The Upshur County Sheriff's Office, Longview Police Crime Scene Unit, and the Texas Rangers were called to the scene.

Almost immediately, investigators were calling the scene suspicious.

Investigators determined the person in the truck did not die from the fire.

Sharon Maxwell, 43, was arraigned Wednesday morning on murder charges.

Gordon Maxwell was the man found dead inside.  The cause of his death has not been determined, his wife, Sharon, remains in jail in lieu of $750,000 bond.

No motive has been given, but, investigators say one possible motive they are pursuing is covering of evidence by fire.

The body has been sent to Dallas for an autopsy.
