LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police arrested a Diboll man Monday morning in what may be one of the first offenders in the area of the new "extreme DWI" laws.
Amalio Corral, 41, is charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and criminal mischief.
The aggravated DWI charge comes because police say he tested for a blood-alcohol level of .15 or higher.
Aggravated DWI is a Class A misdemeanor.
According to the report, police responded to the 1100 block of South Timberland Drive at 7:35 a.m. and determined that Corral, who was drunk, had used his Chevy Suburban to ram his girlfriend's Suzuki Grand Vitara.
The report states all four doors had been folded back and would not close, causing $2,000 worth of damage to the vehicle.
Bail bond has not been set for Corral's release, according to Angelina County Jail records.
