Hemphill Sophomore goes down in record books

The Hemphill Hornets have clearly found their new star. Justin Twine is only a sophomore but against West Sabine he had stats of a veteran. Twine erupted for a tremendous 534 yards and six touchdowns in the 77-56 win for the Hornets.

The incredible night goes down in Texas high school football history as the second-best all time performance. Twine trails on Daryl Ellis' 587 yards in 1998 on the list.

Twine easily lead the team for the majority of yards and points for the Hornets, scoring on three touchdowns of 90-plus yard plays. Hemphill faces Joaquin this Friday at 7:30 in Joaquin.

Not only will Justin be in the record books but he could win Dave Campbell's high school player of the week. To vote for Justin go to http://www.texasfootball.com/highschool/ and vote in the poll on the right hand side of the page. If Twine wins he will be invited to the Texas Bowl and be in the running for player of the year. Voting ends Friday.
