HEMPHILL, TX (KTRE) – A local rising high school football star is in the running for the Gridiron Legends Player of the Week honor.
Each week Dave Campbell's Texas Football chooses 10 players from around the state to compete.
This week East Texas native Justin Twine from Hemphill is on the list. The 15 year old sophomore quarterback rushed for 534 yards and 6 touchdowns last Friday night to help lead his team to a non-conference 77-56 win against the West Sabine Tigers.
If Justin is named player of the week, he will be invited to the Texas Bowl game and it would also put him in the competition for player of the year.
You can help Justin by voting for him at http://www.texasfootball.com/highschool/
The voting ends Friday.
