Burrito eatery coming to Lufkin Mall

LUFKIN, TX (News Release) - Shoppers at Lufkin Mall will soon have a place to taste Mexican-style food.

Skyline Burrito Bowls, a new fast casual eatery, is slated to open in late September near Bealls on the north side of the shopping center.

Hungry shoppers can select their own ingredients to create the perfect combination.  Skyline Burrito Bowls will offer a burrito with a selection of fillings including chicken, beef or brisket plus lettuce, tomato, cheese, salsa, sour cream or guacamole.   Or, diners can also select a combination of ingredients served in a bowl and eaten with chips or a fork.

"Skyline Burrito Bowls adds a new food choice for shoppers and complements other mall eating establishments such as Chick-fil-A and China Max," said Tom Jenkins, Lufkin Mall general manager.

Lufkin resident and entrepreneur Tavo Velazquez is the operator of the new eatery.  Tavo has ten years experience in the food industry.

Lufkin Mall is home to three major department stores plus 51 specialty stores and a nine screen Carmike Cinema.  Major merchants are Bealls, JCPenney and Sears.    The mall, easily accessible at Loop 287 and Highway 59, serves the shopping needs of East Texans.
