TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - TRINITY CO., TX (KTRE) – Firefighters fighting a wildfire in Trinity County hesitate to say that fire is controlled, however, they all agree that it has been 100% contained.
Most of the volunteer fire departments called in to help have been relieved of duty as forestry crews worked Thursday to mop up, put out hot spots and work to maintain containment lines.
A massive blaze broke out Tuesday afternoon when a Livingston man flipped his log truck on FM 355, just outside of Groveton.
The stretch of FM 355 at the fire between County Road 1 and FM 356 has been re-opened to traffic, according to County Judge Doug Page.
No structures were lost, but many were in jeopardy. Latest reports indicate more than 830 acres were burned. It is one of several major fires the county has fought over the last few months.
