Check out this big catch

WARREN COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A new alligator weight record was set this weekend in Warren County.

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks tweeted Saturday that a 690.5 pounds and 12-foot-7-inch alligator was caught on private land near Eagle Lake in Warren County.

We're told Jody Fortenberry, Jake Ponder, Clinton Sennett and Brian Jackson caught the alligator.

Alligator hunting on private land is open Sept. 9 through Oct. 3. There are 83 permitted private properties within 25 counties open to alligator hunting.

Private lands within the open counties must contain at least 20 acres of privately owned surface water to qualify for an alligator harvest voucher.  Each application requires special documentation and landowner permission. The deadline for applications was July 1.
