MANGUM, Okla. (AP) - Jurors have retired for the evening in the trial of the wife of an Oklahoma prison warden who vanished with a convicted killer only to turn up with him years later on a Shelby County, Texas chicken ranch.
Jurors deliberated for just under an hour Monday evening before telling the judge they wanted resume in the morning. Prosecutors and defense lawyers gave closing arguments earlier in the day, bringing a trial that lasted all summer one step from its conclusion.
Bobbi Parker is accused of running off with now-dead Randolph Franklin Dial in 1994 and making a new life with him. Parker says she was held against her will.
Dial and Parker were found on a Campti, Texas, chicken ranch in 2005 after a tip to an anti-crime television show.
