After a disappointing loss in their third away game in a row the Lufkin Panthers are finally returning to Abe Martin Stadium.
It's homecoming week in Lufkin, Texas and this week the Panthers play host to the Conroe Tigers. Tuesday head coach John Outlaw spoke about how to make it a happy homecoming.
"Well we need to do what we do and don't make the mistakes that we made at Longview," said Outlaw. "We fumbled the ball at a critical situation and we had five third down conversions that we couldn't get. If we do that against them (Conroe) they are going to think they have a chance to win."
Players admit it is exciting playing in front of large crowds this time of year.
"The only distraction is that there is going to be a ton of people here," said place kicker Luis Garcia. "When we are at home you can tell that the crowd is into the game and you feel it."
Kickoff is at 7:30PM Friday night at Abe Martin stadium.
