Nacogdoches Police: Ga. man caught with cocaine in car

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches Police arrested a Georgia man Friday morning after they reported catching him with six pounds of cocaine.

An officer stopped the 2007 Ford Focus, driven by Mario Paz Bedarte, 29, of Jasper, Ga., at 6:22 a.m. in the 1700 block of Southwest Stallings Drive, for speeding.

A further investigation revealed more than six pounds of cocaine in a false compartment in the car, according to the report.

Police arrested Bedarte for possession of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony.
