LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A Lufkin woman shot a 12-foot alligator Sunday after landowners in Liberty County caught it with a chicken just a couple hours before.

A YouTube video shows Erin Ivins, her son and his friend pulling the monster reptile toward the bank with a rope before she shoots it with .357 pistol three times to kill it.

Ivins said she did it on private property used for clay shooting.

"The owners called me and said they had a 10-foot alligator I should come kill," Ivins said.

The alligator is one of the biggest killed in Texas this year. In July, a Dallas man and three men from Crockett killed a 13'8" alligator in Leon County. The four are now charged with killing the alligator without the landowner's consent.

Ivins said her alligator weighs more than 900 pounds and measures around 12'1".

She said she will have the head mounted as a trophy and the skin made into a rug.

"I know, it sounds so redneck," she said with a laugh. "But they told me I could re-sell the rug."
