Hannah Funeral

Dozens of people who loved and admired Judge John Hannah filled the First Baptist Church in Tyler this morning.

Former Governor Ann Richards arrived with the family of Judge Hannah. He is survived by his wife Judith Guthrie, who is a federal magistrate in Tyler.

Judge Hannah had a career that spanned 30 years. In 1994, he was appointed U.S. District Judge. Then, in 2001, he was elevated to Chief Judge. But before becoming a lawyer and judge, he served in the Texas House of Representatives. He was also Secretary of State under Governor Ann Richards.

As Judge Hannah was eulogized this morning, he was remembered as a fair judge and a man who loved his family.
