CENTER, TX (KTRE) - An alert police detective managed to lead his fellow officers to the arrest of a Center man suspected in at least 14 burglaries.
According to a press release, Det. Joey Haley was patrolling the area of Pine Grove Nursing Home on Saturday when he saw a vehicle with the window broken out of the passenger side. Haley investigated the area and noticed two other vehicles being burglarized.
Haley then called two officers to the area who began searching for suspects throughout the city. One officer saw a blue vehicle with the headlights out and turn into Shelby Regional Medical Center. The officer saw a man get out of the vehicle and walk behind other vehicles parked there.
The officer then saw the suspect with burglary tools and about to break into a vehicle. Police detained the suspect, identified as Timothy Mark Harris, 47.
Police are in the process of charging Harris with 14 counts of burglary.
