LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police have arrested a man in connection to an armed robbery on September 15.
Five men reported on that day that two men, armed with handguns, entered the apartment on South First Street and ordered them to all lie on the floor. The victims were restrained and the suspects took their wallets and electronics before they fled the apartment.
One of the victims was able to recognize one of the suspects previously to the robbery. One week before the robbery, he said he was approached by a man who said his name was Kenney or Kenneth and they discussed mutual friends. The victim said he saw another man get into Kenneth's vehicle, and later recognized him as the same man that robbed them. The victim described the men and the vehicle to the police department.
The vehicle was later spotted at the Angelina College parking lot and was traced back to Kenneth Jolivet. Jolivet's driver's license photograph was retrieved along with the photographs from a Regions Bank ATM where the victim's credit/debit card had been used after the robbery. Jolivet was identified, but the victim said that Jolivet was not one of the people who robbed them.
Police arrested Jolivet on a charge of credit card abuse on Thursday.
