LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Volunteers were teaming up for a day of service at the Lufkin Habitat for Humanity house on Lotus Lane Wednesday morning.
Lufkin High School students started assembling and building the home's shell last September.
Coca-Cola presented a check Wednesday for 64-hundred dollars to Lufkin Habitat for Humanity.
Volunteers were out installing sheet rock, washing windows, and placing a mailbox in the yard.
"Everybody on the board and that's involved with Habitat for Humanity of Angelina County is very excited to be a part of it," said Greg Bowman of Habitat for Humanity.
"We're helping the local community, so we're leaving an impression upon them, not just of buying our beverages, but on helping them where they live," said Hector Amaya, VP Field Operations of Houston Coca-Cola.
The home is one of several donated by Habitat for Humanity located in the neighborhood. The house is still waiting to be a real home. A new homeowner has not been selected at this point.
