Hundreds of people were playing bingo tonight, and they weren't just having fun, they were also raising money for a very important cause. The Black Tie Bingo benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Lufkin kicked off at Crown Colony Country Club Wednesday evening.
As well as the bingo, both a silent and a live auction helped with the fundraising. With items like diamond jewelry and tickets to a Houston Rockets game being auctioned off, organizers say every penny counts. Jeff Woods, director of the Boys and Girls Club, says the club hoped to raise over 20-thousand dollars at Wednesday's event.
