NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Nacogdoches County authorities are searching for a known suspect accused of stabbing a man who was visiting with his ex-girlfriend.
According to Sheriff Thomas Kerss, Leoncio Lopez-Hernandez charged into a residence on the 5200 block of South Street at 10:26 p.m. and got in a verbal argument with his ex, who he had been broken up with for a month, and Jose Zamorano, who was visiting the woman.
Kerss said Lopez-Hernandez went into the kitchen and got a knife and began attacking Zamorano, who ran into the master bedroom. Lopez-Hernandez followed him into there and continued to attack him on the bed, where two small children were sleeping, Kerss said.
The woman ran out of the house with a cellphone and called 911, where she saw Lopez-Hernandez leave the property.
Kerss said the suspect is at-large, but charges have been filed for burglary and two counts of endangering a child.
Zamorano suffered serious injuries to upper torso and to the abdominal area.
