Federal cocaine suspect scheduled for December trial

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A man named in a federal grand jury indictment for alleged cocaine activity in Nacogdoches County is scheduled for a December trial.

Maxie Antione Deckard, 31, will have a final pre-trial hearing on December 2 and jury selection and a trial will be held on December 12 in Lufkin, if he does not enter a guilty plea before then.

Any plea agreement is due by November 25.

The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office arrested Deckard on September 16, 2010, following a raid on a Woden Road home. Deputies reported recovering approximately 50 grams of crack cocaine and $2,600 in cash.

Count Two of the indictment references a September 16 incident. The other offenses allegedly occurred on March 9, 2011, and Aug. 26, 2010.
