Benefits of Hormone Replacement Therapy

It's the topic of conversation for many women: Menopause and how best to treat its symptoms, which include anxiety, irritability, headaches, and hot flashes.

Many women tried Hormone Replacement Therapy. Then some study results surfaced on HRT which caused some concern.

Vanderbilt Doctor Esther Eisenberg says the women's health initiative looked at prevention of health problems in women aged 50 to 80 using Prempro. She says the study reported HRT did not prevent heart disease, stroke, and Alzheimers disease, as originally thought.

But she says it does reduce colon cancer and prevent osteoporosis. She says it can help many women in the first several years of menopause, but it may not be for everyone.
