Denver boy wanting to join Girl Scouts draws national attention

DENVER, Colo. – A Denver boy wanting to join the Girl Scouts was initially refused membership, however, the organization has since reversed its decision.

The mother of the 7-year-old says her son, Bobby, who was born anatomically male, identifies as a girl and has since age 2.  Experts say such extremely early gender identification is common among transgender individuals.

Felisha Archuleta indicated that Bobby's family has dealt with the child's gender expression by doing what medical authorities recommend: Allowing Bobby a choice of clothing, among other gender identity markers.

What do you think?  Should the Girl Scouts allow boys to join their organization?  Watch the story tonight on KTRE's East Texas News at 10 and then take our web poll.
