Improving conditions favorable for Fall Classic

ST. LOUIS (AP) - With better weather expected this evening in St. Louis, the Cardinals and Rangers continue preparing for Game 6 of the World Series.

They were supposed to resume the Fall Classic yesterday, but with rain in the forecast Major League Baseball shut it down hours before the scheduled start time. Both managers are staying with their announced starter.

Cards skipper Tony La Russa will hand the ball to left-hander Jaime Garcia, needing a win to force a decisive Game 7 Friday night in Busch Stadium. Texas bench boss Ron Washington sends righty Colby Lewis to the mound.

It's expected to be chilly this evening in the Gateway City, with a temperature in the 40's and light winds.
