Prosecution Rests in Capital Murder Trial

The prosecution has rested in the capital murder case of 19 year old Richard Cobb. According to the Cherokee County District Attorney's office, Cobb's attorney will begin his defense Wednesday.

Cobb and another teenager, Beunka Adams, both face the death penalty. They're accused of robbing a convenience store, kidnapping two employees and a customer, then shooting all three with a shotgun. The crimes happened back in September of 2002. The customer, Kenneth Vandever, died as a result of that shooting, but the two employees survived and helped police catch the suspects. Beunka Adams remains in the Cherokee County Jail, awaiting trial.
