Man Out of ICU After Leading Police in Deadly Car Chase Last Month

A 31-year-old Conroe man who led police in Timpson on a deadly car chase last month is now out of the intensive care unit in a Tyler hospital.

Timpson City Marshal Jeff Klopp says Steven Reynolds has been taken off a ventilator, but still remains in a coma. Klopp says they can't continue an investigation until they can speak to Reynolds.

Reynolds and 30-year-old Jennifer Williamson of Splendora led police on a high-speed chase after allegedly robbing a Dollar General Store. The chase ended in Joaquin when they hit another car head on. Williamson later died.

Reynolds is charged with robbery, evading arrest, and manslaughter.
