Freedom Fighters: Clint Surles

In World War Two, Clint Surles faced death from Anzio Beach to the foot of the Italian Alps. As an Army Medic, Surles was not only in danger himself, he had very few supplies for saving lives. A sulphur medicine, plasma, morphine, and bandages were the nucleus of his medical supplies.

The area was so bitterly cold that frozen feet and trench foot were added problems, causing numerous amputations.

A Bronze Star and Presidential Citation were awarded Surles for his bravery on the battlefield.
