Between 30 and 40 horses were rescued by Lone Star Equine Rescue and Habitat for Horses this morning in Shelby County.
According the Lone Star Equine Spokesperson Barbara Levitzki, the warrant for the seizure of the horses was signed yesterday.
Some, but not all, of the horses showed signs of neglect and the two groups are treating the incident as a case of horse neglect. The horses are being moved to a ranch in Douglass until a judge determines the health of the horses on a case-by-case basis.
