Diboll football looks to win a district title this week

DIBOLL, TX (KTRE) - Win and the Diboll Lumberjacks are in the Texas 3A state playoffs. Pretty simple, right? The only problem is they are facing the Jasper Bulldogs and the Bulldogs are undefeated through district play so far.

What makes senior night even more interesting for the Lumberjacks? A loss could not only knock them out of a district title, but completely out of the playoffs should the Center Rough Riders win against Kirbyville.

First year head coach Shane Adair says he is happy to be so close to reaching their goals.

"There aren't a lot of teams in the state of Texas that can say the same thing we can and have a chance to win a district title," said Adair. "I couldn't be more excited or please with the play of our kids. For it to come down to week ten and have an opportunity to reach our goals and make the playoffs, I couldn't be happier."

Lumberjack star runningback Terrence Taylor has more than 1800 rushing yards on the season and even boasts 20 touchdowns. He also has one simple message for their opponent this Friday and any week beyond that should they make the playoffs.

"We are definitely ready to go," said Taylor. "We are always ready to play anybody, anywhere."

Diboll kicks off against Jasper this Friday at Lumberjack stadium at 7:30 p.m.
