ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man was injured Wednesday afternoon after a rollover accident on U.S. 69 North.
Trooper Rodney Tucker said Larry Craig Ramos Jr., 28, was driving southbound on U.S. 69 and said he had reached down to pick up a CD when he drifted off the road. He overcorrected twice and started rolling his Ford Ranger.
The pickup came to rest on the driver side, near the intersection of FM 706.
A former nurse was among many people who stopped to help Ramos.
"When I got over him I said what's today, he said Wednesday," Chelsea Ezell said. "When I said what's today's date, he told me what today's date was. I said what's your name and he said it. I said I needed to touch all your fingers this way. He did it. I said where does it hurt? I wrapped up his arm with a shirt. Said a little prayer and called his boss."
Ramos was wearing a seatbelt and was taken to a Lufkin hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, including a possible broken arm.
