Gore Visits Iowa to Campaign for Dean

Former Vice President Al Gore urged cheering backers of Howard Dean to "organize, organize, organize" as the campaign for Iowa's caucuses headed into its final ten days.

Gore will make several appearances tonight and tomorrow on Dean's behalf.

Gore told Dean's cheering supporters that he will do "everything in my power" to get Dean elected president.

When he endorsed Dean last month, Gore cited the enthusiasm Dean has managed to generate among his backers.

He used that theme to fire up campaign workers, who will be knocking on doors in coming days, seeking to persuade Democrats to attend their precinct caucuses.

Gore's backing comes on an upbeat day for Dean's campaign, which earlier in the day collected the key endorsement of Iowa Senator Tom Harkin.
