NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Sophomore quarterback Brady Attaway has been named Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the Lumberjacks 69-10 win at Lamar Saturday. It is the first time in his career that Attaway has received the honor.
The Lumberjacks scored 20 points in a 1:11 stretch of the first quarter to take a commanding lead over Lamar, and Attaway made sure the Cardinals never got back in the contest. The Whitehouse, Texas, native, completed 62 percent of his passes for 359 yards and five touchdowns. He completed a pass to 11 different receivers on the night.
Attaway has been a major factor in the team's current three-game win streak. During that stretch, Attaway has completed 65 percent of his passes for 971 yards and 13 touchdowns.
SFA will look to make it four in a row, and get back to .500 on the season, when they host Southeastern Louisiana Saturday at 6 p.m. in Homer Bryce Stadium. The SFA seniors will be recognized prior to the game.
