CORRIGAN, TX (KTRE) - Eryka Price says she was walking down Matthews Street that runs by Bulldog Stadium when she was hit by a car.
"It was scary and it hurt really bad," Eryka Price said.
"It was just like scary," Latisha Price, Eryka's mother, said. "I mean I didn't know what to think. I didn't know what to do. I was just praying that she was okay."
Her daughter was taken to the hospital.
She says a strained muscle in her back still hurts her.
She'll be okay, but the Prices say it's a lack of punishment for the driver that hit her that really hurts.
"I'm not asking for her to go to jail or anything like that," the mother said. "I just want her to be punished so she knows that there are consequences to your actions."
The police department tells us the driver was cited.
Still, Price maintains one ticket is not enough to send a message to drivers.
"They know that the children walk that road every Friday night after the game, they go down there," Latisha Price said. "They know this, so I thought they could've been patrolling more and just keeping an eye on more."
The city said they will look at the issues regarding Matthews Street once the investigation is complete.
