The Hudson High School Lady Hornets are hosting 'Buddy Day' Saturday, November 12th, from 11:00 am to 1:00 PM at the Hudson ISD track.
The team decided to join together and help the Hudson community recognize children with special needs and help their families. This is the first annual event in Hudson to raise awareness throughout the community while having a fun day outside.
Coach Nigel Boyles says her team is excited about the opportunity and that they should learn and thing or two this weekend.
"It doesn't matter what these kids are going through they are just happy and excited to be there," said Boyles "I think our kids can learn from them more than they are going to learn from us this weekend."
The players know it is important to help those in need. The event will be free to attend for families and kids and Lady Hornet Cheyenne Williams says seeing the kids happy is all the satisfaction she will need.
"It's going to feel great to see all the smiles that are going to be there," said Williams. "We are going to have a blast and I can't wait."
There will be a concession stand, drawings for cash and prizes, bounce castles, goodie bags, T-shirts and ribbons for all the children that attend.
