Goodrich man dies day after 4-vehicle wreck

POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Goodrich man died Wednesday morning from injuries he suffered in a four-vehicle accident in Polk County Tuesday morning.

John Doyle White, 47, died at a Houston hospital at 10:04 a.m.

According to the DPS report, Fred Douglass Ross, of Huntsville was driving a 1999 Freightliner and towing a flatbed trailer on an improved shoulder, eastbound on U.S. 190, 4.6 miles west of Livingston, around 6:15 a.m. Ross turned unsafely from the shoulder into the eastbound lane in front of White, who was driving a 2003 Dodge van. White struck Ross' vehicle, then deflected into the westbound lane. A 1986 Chevy truck, driven by Johnny Gonzales, 38, of Livingston, struck White's vehicle. A 2007 Ford Mustang, driven by Jeannette Wagner Kraker, of Onalaska, striking the debris in the roadway.

Gonzales suffered minor injuries and was listed in good condition in a Livingston hospital.

White and Gonzales were wearing seatbelts, according to the report.
