SHELBY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - It's unlikely, Carson Wilburn will soon forget his 11th birthday.
"Well, first of all, there's a camera in front of me," said 11 year old Carson Wilburn.
And, what puts Carson in the news.
"The fact I'm turning 11 and the date is 11/11/11," said Wilburn.
So, make the most of it by turning the clock back to 11 of course. And mom rearrange your schedule.
"I have a hair salon and I had to cancel my 11 o'clock appointment so we could be here," said mom, Sonya Wilburn.
Two of Carson's friends weren't here, so that makes 11.
"Very cool," says Carson.
"He's growing up so fast," says S. Wilburn.
Carson's special day is on Veteran's Day. At eleven this morning, he rang the school bell, eleven times of course.
"Exactly 11 o'clock when they signed the treaty to end World War I," said Carson's fifth grade teacher.
"That way we can have freedom in the world and I hope that stays the way it is right now," said Carson.
That's enough to make any veteran grandpa proud. In Aiken, where you'll find Excelsior School, all the addresses begin with eleven. Its performance is the best in the county thanks to...
"We have 11 teachers and I just thought that was cool because it's 11/11. I'm turning 11 and we have 11 teachers," said Carson.
Something else that's cool...
"We've been exemplary for two years and I plan to make it 11 years," said Carson.
In about 11 years, Carson will be graduating from college, so you better hold on to that lucky number of 11.
