PALESTINE, TX (KLTV) - An SUV wreck killed one person in Anderson County over the weekend.
Shortly before 1:30 am Sunday, a Chevy Tahoe driven by Erik Green of Arlington, crossed the center line on highway 287 south of FM 1817 near Elkhart and collided with another SUV.
A passenger in that SUV, Betsy Salazar, 40, of Waco was killed and three others were injured; 24-year-old Leubin Garcia is in serious condition, 22-year-old Anna Pecina and 21-year-old Marysol Pecina, both in critical condition at a Palestine hospital.
Erik Green was transported to a Palestine hospital with minor injuries and is in the Anderson County Jail, charged with Intoxicated Manslaughter with vehicle with bonds totaling $800,000.
While authorities were on the scene, another car struck the life-flight helicopter. The helicopter suffered some damage, but no injuries were reported.
The driver of that car, Matthew Mitchell was arrested on DWI and Open Alcohol Container charges with a bond of $35,000 and passenger, Robert Hamm, was also arrested for public intoxication.
