Nacogdoches resident catches alleged burglars in the act

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

A Nacogdoches resident said they were home at the time their home was burglarized Sunday morning and police were able to arrest the suspects just a few blocks away.

According to the police report, officers were called to a burglary in progress on the 100 block of Sweetgum Street at 11:34 a.m. The resident said someone broke into the back door of the residence and they confronted one of the suspects inside the home. The suspect and another, who was in the yard, ran from the scene.

Officers found both suspects, who matched the victim's description, about a block away from the home.

Officers arrested Carnavious Dante Hogan, 21, and Kendrick Dewayne Duckett, 23, both of Nacogdoches. They are charged with burglary of a habitation.
