CLEVELAND, TX (AP) - Authorities in Southeast Texas say a man trapped in a crawl space under a small house that collapsed was able to free himself but a second worker had to be rescued.
The Liberty County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday said the accident happened near Cleveland as the men tried to level the wood-frame house.
The sheriff's department says the first man, after about 20 minutes Monday afternoon, managed to crawl out and he called 911.
Cleveland fire Chief Steve Rasberry told The Associated Press that emergency personnel dug out the second man, who was transported to a Houston hospital. Rasberry says the worker's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
