Motorists Have Close Call in Major Accident

Traffic on highway 69 slowed to a crawl this morning after a major accident at FM 844 South of Huntington. According to Department of Public Safety officials, 62-year-old Maurice Burnier was heading South on 69 when a sedan pulled out in front of him.

Burnier hit the car, forcing his truck through a field. The driver of the sedan, 48-year-old Michael Ellis, was transported to a Lufkin Hospital where he is in stable condition. Amazingly, neither of the drivers had any life threatening injuries.
