NEWTON COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin boy was killed Saturday afternoon after failing to yield right of way while riding his bicycle.
According to the report, Melanie Renea Williams of Muskogee, Oklahoma was headed westbound in her 2001 Ford utility vehicle on Highway 63 in Newton County. Seandarius Obrian Hennington, 12, of Lufkin, was headed southbound on his bicycle when he failed to yield right of way before crossing Highway 63. Williams struck Hennington, and he was pronounced dead at 3:05 p.m. on the scene.
No other injuries have been reported. The family has been notified.
