NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office deputy arrested a man Sunday night after he allegedly avoided a traffic stop by driving away from the deputy with seven children in his car.
Sheriff Thomas Kerss said the deputy tried to stop Javinsky Vonschell Lampkin, 25, of Nacogdoches, around 7:30 p.m. on FM 2863. Lampkin did not stop and kept driving at "moderate speed" until he reached a residence on County Road 542.
Kerss said seven children, with ages ranging from 5 to 11, left the 2006 Cadillac Seville but Lampkin refused to get out and the deputy had to force him out to arrest him.
Lampkin was booked in the Nacogdoches County Jail on seven counts of endangering a child because the children were involved in the car chase, evading arrest with a vehicle, a misdemeanor charge of evading arrest for not getting out of the vehicle, and eight city traffic court warrants.
