NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Stephen F. Austin defensive end Willie Jefferson's
five-sack performance is continuing to receive attention around the country.
Jefferson was named College Sporting News National Weekly All-Star announced
publication officials Tuesday morning.
Jefferson set a school and Southland Conference record with his fifth sack in Saturday's season finale at Northwestern State. It was the second time this season that Jefferson had set the school single-game sack record. Jefferson finished the year with 16 sacks, just two shy of the SFA single-season mark. The Lumberjacks led the nation in sacks as a team in 2011.
SFA closed out the season with five consecutive wins, including a 33-0 victory at Northwestern State to close out the season. The win marked the third consecutive season that SFA has kept Chief Caddo in Nacogdoches. It also marked the first shutout victory over Northwestern State since the 1963 season.
